This image was built in layers. A 4x5 photograph was taken of the two frogs. This film was then collaged in the darkroom with paper flowers and text book paper in order to expose all three layers onto a large piece of film as a contact print. This new larger piece of film was then enlarged further and transfered to a photo-litho aluminum plate, inked, and printed. Through the process the image transitioned from negative to postive, forward and backward, dark to light multiple times - as is the transition from life to death and death to life.
